Acquisitions

The Acquisition Services unit is responsible for  selecting, ordering, and procuring library materials to support the learning, teaching, and research needs of our users. We ensure that our collections remain current, relevant, dynamic and diverse across all formats.

What We Do

∗ Collection Development

Acquisition unit works closely with faculty, researchers, and other stakeholders to identify and select high-quality resources that support academic programs and institutional priorities.

∗ Ordering and Procuring

Unit manages the purchase of books, journals, e-books, databases, multimedia, and other resources in all formats from a wide range of domestic and international vendors.

∗ Subscription and Licensing Management

We negotiate and manage licenses for electronic resources to ensure access on time and cost-effectiveness.

∗ Donations and Gifts

We review and process donated materials in line with our collection development policy. Donations that meet the academic and preservation standards of our university are added to the collection.

∗ Approval and Standing Orders

We manage vendor approval plans for receiving regular new published titles.

∗ Budget Management and Reporting

We oversee library budgets, track expenditures, and provide detailed reports to support strategic decisions.
