Physical Collections

Collections

Refers to the range of materials available in a library, including books, journals, manuscripts, digital
resources, and more, which are accessible for research, teaching, or general interest.

General Collection Includes physical resources on all floors to support ADA community learning and research – 3-week (21 days) loan period.
Repository Collection Stores extra copies of the General collection books – located on the basement floor of the Library – 3-week (21 days) loan period.
Fiction Collection Includes easy to read and popular fiction books and literature – located on the basement floor of the Library – 3-week (21 days) loan period.
Audiovisual Collection Contains both audio and video format items covering a variety of subject areas – located on the first floor of the Library – 1-week (7 days) loan period.
Documents and Reports Contains books and other materials mainly with statistical content – located on the basement floor of the Library – 1-week (7 days) loan period.
Reference Collection Contains dictionaries, encyclopedias, and atlases on social sciences, history, and law – first floor – for in-library use only.
Course Reserves Collection Contains course textbooks and print materials – 2-hour loan; may be borrowed overnight, on weekends, or holidays when the library is closed;
Course Reserves, Instructor Copies Includes instructor/professor copies of the textbooks and other course materials – can be checked out only by Faculty for the period of 6 months (180 days);
Test Preparation Manuals Contain manuals, which help prospective test takers prepare for several types of standardized tests – 1 week’s (7 days) loan period;
“Rector Hafiz Pashayev’s” special collection Mainly contains books by Hafiz Pashayev and books presented to Hafiz Pashayev by authors or institutions – located on the second floor – for use only in the Library.
“Heydar Aliyev 100” special collection Includes books and other physical library resources about the Azerbaijan’s great leader Heydar Aliyev – located on the first floor – for use only in the Library.
“Thomas Goltz’s” special collection Contains books donated by the late Thomas Goltz, the American journalist and writer, who travelled to Azerbaijan during the 1st Karabakh War – located on the basement floor – for use only in the Library.
“Iouldouz Raguimov’s” special collection Contains textbooks, course materials, and books donated by Dr. Iouldouz S. Raguimov - located on the Library's basement floor - available for loan to ADA Faculty.
ADA Publications Includes books and periodicals published by or with the support of ADA University – located on the first floor – for use only in the Library building.
Social Responsibility Projects (SRP) collection Includes resources published by or with the support of Azerbaijan-based local and international companies – located on the first floor – for use only in the Library building.
